I am a student and I am a believer but it looks like I cannot balance two” is the all too familiar complaint we get. It is like when you come into school, and the whole thing just doesn’t weld—things are falling apart because the center doesn’t hold. The truth is these things demand our attention, they are constantly looking for ways to find our attention and dominate our thought, and we have to find ways to juggle through and remain focused.
There is nothing that grows without intense focus; you should be ready to give it all your time and energy to see it thrive.
Whatever field you want to venture into it all has its perks and you have to find a way to dance around it if you want to be successful at it.
That’s the dilemma a lot of us are experiencing. We do not know how this balance can be achieved, so we try to hold these things together; it always ends up in futility—and this is exactly the opposite of what we want.
You want to be the best in your class; you want to make the best grades; at the same time you want to keep your faith soaring. You are a believer that loves the lord with a passion unrequited by none in your area. You cannot let that gold you got perish, but you also want to be earthly relevant.
Oh, let’s not also forget that there is the part where there are principles that would be taught, shared, and opined that does not sit well with your faith, and at that, you might cringe a little at the statements your professors would make and you would have to write these same thoughts in the exam if not you would fail. Writing these thoughts makes you feel like Peter that night when he denied the Lord.
The only difference is that the cock is your knowledge and love of the Lord.
You want so much like a bird that is caged to soar and show everyone your faith but your school is academic and doesn’t tolerate any idea of religion. You are also forced to compromise on your beliefs and accept what others believe too, if not, you risk being expelled. All these and more torment the regular student.
This book will help you balance your Christian life with your studies!
